Minimal Deviation Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma of the Uterine Cervix - A Case Report

چکیده
first described by Gusserow in 1870 as a well differentiated adenocarcinoma in which most of the glands are impossible to be distinguished from the normal endocervical mucosa, although the MDA invades deep into the cervical stroma. At first, MDA was restricted to the mucinous type, but the definition of MDA has been expanded to other cell types, including the endometrioid, clear cell and nonspecific cellular types of differentiation. Minimal deviation endometrioid adenocarcinoma (MDEA) is a variant of MDA, and it is characterized by the proliferation of infiltrative, mildly atypical endometrioid glands with no or minimal stromal reaction. Only 17 cases of cervical MDEA have been reported in the English literature. In this current report, we describe our recent experience of a patient with MDEA and we compare this case with the previous reports.

Minimal deviation mucinous adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix that proved difficult to differentiate from endometrial cancer: A case report
Minimal deviation adenocarcinoma (MDA), also known as adenoma malignum of the uterine cervix, accounts for only ~1% of uterine cervical adenocarcinomas. Adenoma malignum of the uterine cervix was initially described by Gusserow in 1870. Using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), MDA appears as multilocular lesions with solid components that extend from the endocervical glands to the deep cervical ...

Background: Ovarian mucinous borderline tumors are divided into two morphologic groups: endocervical-like and intestinal type. Most endocervical adenocarcinomas exhibit mucinous and/or endometrioid differentiation, they infrequently metastasize to the ovaries but may simulate primary ovarian tumors (both atypical proliferative or borderline and carcinoma). In patients with mucinous adenocarcino...
متن کاملEndometrioid Adenocarcinoma Arising from Endometriosis of the Uterine Cervix: A Case Report
Endometrioid adenocarcinoma arising from endometriosis of the uterine cervix is rare in premenopausal woman. We describe here a patient with this condition and review the clinical and pathological features of these tumors. A 48-yr-old woman complaining of severe dysmenorrhea was referred for investigation of a pelvic mass. Total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy were pe...
متن کاملEndometrioid adenocarcinoma concurrent with a blue nevus of the endometrium and uterine cervix: A case report
A blue nevus is a benign melanocytic lesion that is composed of spindle-shaped pigmented melanocytes. Although the uterine cervix is believed to be the most common extracutaneous location of blue nevi, the occurrence of these lesions in the endometrial stroma has been reported, albeit rarely. The present study describes a case of endometrioid adenocarcinoma concurrent with a blue nevus of the e...
متن کاملMinimal Deviation Adenocarcinoma and Its Mimickers: A Case Report with Review of Literature
Amongst all the glandular lesions of the cervix, minimal deviation adenocarcinoma (MDA) the, so called Adenomamalignum and its mimickers have been the subject of great interest in the literature. Although a rare entity, MDA commonly requires consultancy to distinguish it from many benign cervical glandular lesions. MDA is a unique neoplasm of the uterine cervix, characterized by mucinous glands...
